The purpose of this game is to build and expand the reading
comprehension ability of individuals that are humble and brave enough
to work to improve themselves in this area. I am grateful to serve
such people. Thank you for permitting me to assist you in your growth.
Laszlo Polgar was an extraordinary educational psychologist who
fathered three of the top female chess players in world history. He
believed that greatness, in any intellectual field, was created
through a series of consistent steps that sought to build upon and
challenge existing knowledge.
Intellectual greatness is not a result of birth, genetics, or luck. It
is based on learning skills, testing those skills, modestly reviewing
our mistakes, and trying again.
Everyone makes mistakes, there is no shame in that. Mistakes are our
friend. If we get something right, cool. If we get something wrong,
that is an opportunity to grow.
The skills we are looking to build for reading comprehension
improvement include, but are not limited to: vocabulary, memory,
meaning extraction, summarization, and inferences.
In order to accomplish this goal, we will go through a series of games
that seek to build skill sets central to reading comprehension.
